On Saturday, Tom attended the Shoreline Music Summit sponsored by Sonic Guild. At the Summit, musicians were able to speak with industry representatives from publishing, talent purchasing, radio and promotion. Incantio is a newish music licensing platform designed to match artists with film producers and other content creators looking for music for their projects. Incantio uses an AI-assisted tool to help create the matchups and since it was created by musicians, the musician's share is much higher than what's paid on any of the streaming platforms. We are thrilled to be part of the Incantio world and even more thrilled that Incantio included our song “Ghost” on a “Best of the PNW” they recently published.
Daniel Casado, in addition to being AF's stellar bass player, backing vocalist and composer, owns and is Producer and Lead Engineer at LillyTree Studios, where we now rehearse and record. We have two songs partially completed and are on our way to a full album.
The band spent most of 2023 recording six songs that we are very proud of. We are releasing them as singles once a month for the next five months (Called to Drink is already out there in the world) leading up to a big release party (more about that later). We have weathered a global pandemic, civil unrest as a result of centuries of Systemic Racism and ever increasing signs of Global Warming. Add to all this the strangest political race any of us can remember and you have quite a shit storm. I'm getting by with daily meditation, lots of exercise, focusing on my work, creating music, spending time with people I love and trying to find something to feel grateful about every day.
